‘Best staff have personal experience of homelessness.’

According to ‘Being Supported’ a new report by Groundswell, who were commissioned by the Department for Communities and Local Government to consult with homeless service users. A series of focus groups were held with homeless people around the UK to discover which services had been most helpful on their journey through homelessness. The report also revealed that homeless people feel that their relationship with staff was most important factor in making a service effective and that people felt that smaller agencies were more responsive to their needs.
